In this video tutorial, I’ll show you how to create a digital ID Card using Kodular, a powerful drag-and-drop platform for building Android apps without coding. This project is perfect for beginners who want to learn how to design user interfaces and build functional apps in a simple way. The goal of this tutorial is to design an attractive and professional-looking ID Card that displays important information such as the user’s photo, name, position, institution, and even a QR code — all inside a mobile app created completely in Kodular.
The tutorial starts with creating a new project in Kodular and setting up the main screen layout. I’ll guide you step by step to add the necessary components: Vertical Arrangement for the main container, Image for the profile photo, and Labels for the user’s name, title, and institution. You’ll also learn how to organize them neatly using padding, rounded corners, and alignment settings to achieve a clean and balanced layout. The design aims to be modern, simple, and user-friendly — similar to what you would expect from a professional ID Card app.
After finishing the design, we move on to adding interactive features. One of the key parts of this project is generating a QR code that contains user data such as name or ID number. I’ll show you how to use Kodular’s Barcode component or an external extension to generate and display QR codes dynamically inside the app. This adds a functional and professional touch to your digital ID Card.
Next, we’ll create action buttons like “Save as Image” and “Share”. These buttons will allow users to capture the ID Card layout as an image and either save it to their gallery or share it through other apps. To make this possible, we’ll use the Screenshot extension and Activity Starter component, which make it easy to save or share content within Kodular apps.
Throughout the tutorial, I’ll explain each step clearly so even beginners can follow along. You’ll also learn some basic design principles, such as choosing colors, spacing elements, and maintaining visual balance. By the end of this video, you’ll have a fully functional digital ID Card app built entirely in Kodular — no coding required! This project not only helps you learn Kodular’s interface but also gives you a creative way to build real-world apps with practical use.
